The Wonderful World of Reiki

“Please be open- we have a duty to our clients”- this from Reiki Master Dale Ryder, LMFT- who beautifully sunk us into our bodies and helped us welcome in the Universal Life Force Energy.

January at VFED is when we fortify ourselves for the New Year. Dale- who uniquely combines her therapeutic background and guided imagery with Reiki Energy as a compliment to her work- opened us to the healing inside of ourselves. Inspired by the loss of her 17yo sister from excessive Ca treatment, she notes ED clients have been treated aggressively and through rigid approaches- and we have lost a lot of folks. So she now brings this spiritual dimension to our biopsychosocial approach.

Universal Life Force can already be felt when we are in a flow in a session. Reiki gets in beyond talk tx - calming brainwaves, dropping us into theta, and going deeper than meditation by incorporating touch. You are interacting with you own body and bringing Wise Mind onboard. For ED’s- it helps one to be “at home” in their body- moving them past fight/flight/freeze. CRM is the next level and this combination of Integrative Medicine is where our field is headed.

We briefly covered Chakra systems and what they represent and the potential for Reiki to speak to the body and the higher self- outside of the wound that will never be filled up.

Mental health care today is split from this world- we will have to blend- the split can’t sustain itself.
