Born and raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Amy studied at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City, and at Simmons College in Boston, earning a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics. She completed her Dietetic Internship at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, earning her Registered Dietitian degree in 2005.
After working in a variety of nutrition-related fields including clinical care, the food industry, and corporate wellness settings, Amy now resides in Morro Bay, California where she runs her eponymous virtual private nutrition therapy practice, focusing on the treatment of clinical eating disorders, disordered eating behaviors, and child and family feeding through a psychodynamic lens for all ages and genders. She also specializes in providing nutrition support for clients with gastrointestinal disorders and related chronic conditions like IBS and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome.
Amy complements her work with continuing education in modern psychoanalysis through the Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies in New York City and the Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis in New Jersey, as well as ongoing psychodynamic and eating disorder supervision. She is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. She is a member of VFED, a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Dietitians, and serves on the Patient Advocacy Committee for the International Society for Mast Cell Activation Syndromes.
