Nikki Krauthamer, LMFT

Psychotherapist
Westside

Hi there! My name is Nikki Krauthamer and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have a sincere passion for helping people and working together to guide them towards living a full and authentic life. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art from the University of Texas prior to completing my Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at University of Southern California. In addition to my masters, I have completed additional training and experience which has allowed me to specialize in working with clients and families affected by eating disorders, disordered eating, negative body image and low self esteem. I am also certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and use this modality to help those with a variety of traumatic experiences. I work with clients to create a safe space for them no matter what they are  struggling with and believe that trust in the therapeutic relationship is paramount to the counseling process. I have a passion for working with young adults and millennials specifically to  help define their identity, navigate college and direction in life, work through relationship issues, or with debilitating problems with their mental health. My theoretical orientation is grounded in CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and Mindfulness practices. I believe that we are all capable of changing our thoughts and our experiences, but it can be difficult to do this on our own. The journey towards change begins by understanding the underlying causes of problems, reconnecting to deeper feelings, and learning new coping skills. I would be honored to be part of this experience with you.
