Sheri Barke

Sheri Barke is a Registered Dietitian specializing in eating disorders, sports nutrition, and wellness in the Santa Clarita Valley. After receiving her Bachelors degree in Nutritional Sciences from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Sheri earned her Masters degree in Public Health from UCLA and became one of the first Board Certified Specialists in Sports Dietetics. For 20 years, Sheri worked in college student health and wellness (at UCLA, College of the Canyons, and California Institute of the Arts) and concurrently also held consulting positions as Sport Dietitian for the NBA-G League and Eating Disorder Dietitian for Clearview Treatment programs.  In Fall 2019, Sheri transitioned to teaching nutrition full time at LA Mission College while still maintaining a small private nutrition counseling practice on the side.
Having overcome severe anorexia nervosa in her pre-teen years and binge eating/compulsive exercise/depression in college, Sheri believes that full recovery from eating disorders is possible with the help of a strong, compassionate treatment team.  She embraces health and fitness at every size, strives for balance in all things, and nurtures her personal strength and spirituality through fun, empowering hiking adventures with her "sole sisters!"  Sheri is passionate about helping adults and kids fuel their bodies and minds for optimal performance (in sport, school, and life) while also developing a positive relationship with food, exercise, and their bodies.
